I have been a pet owner my entire life, and in my adulthood, have been a client of a half dozen or more veterinary clinics for various reasons. I was referred to Bristol specifically for reproductive support in a dog dealing with sub-fertility. Over the course of three years, I have worked with three other "reproductive" clinics, two of whom were hardly interested in diagnosing the problem and one that helped diagnose and treat the issue, but that refused to do partial freezings - a full year's worth of collections were paid for and just tossed.
Dr. Player and her crew have been nothing short of amazing; warm, welcoming, and willing to deep dive to see if we can't find a solution. My first experience with Dr. Player was a phone consult that was well over an hour in length, with her not only listening to my concerns and our history, but her sharing knowledge AND resources for why we might attempt one thing over another. Some of the studies she directed me to were fascinating, and I appreciate being looped into the scientific basis for treatment options. Our first in-person appointment, the staff (including Dr. Player) did a wonderful job of explaining everything. They were thorough, and we never felt rushed or forgotten about, even with chaos of a reproductive emergency arriving while we were there (and as a breeder, I'm glad that took precedent, as it should).
Dr. Player gave me more direction in one phone call and one visit than the three other clinics combined in three years of begging for someone to help me get some answers.
I appreciate that Dr. Player incorporates consideration for dog psychology in her practices, and she went above and beyond to make sure that the clinical experiences my dog had (e.g. blood draws, restraints) were completely separate from the reproductive experience.
The clinic is pricey. But it is not different than what I pay local to me, and I appreciate that they did give me estimates before any services were rendered. I drive 3+ hours round trip to be seen here.
My cat had a chronic cough and Dr. Player worked with me for months. She consulted with multiple doctors and finally my cat is healthy again
Tito went for his annual checkup and let’s just say the experience was spectacular!! They greet you by name, are so personable, Tito looks forward to coming to this clinic every single time, tail doesn’t quit wagging!! I highly recommend bring your puppy or any animal to this vet. I will always support this vet and continue bringing my baby Tito here. I hope you do the same! Thank you Bristol Veterinary Clinic for all you have done for Tito and continue to do! We appreciate you!!
I highly recommend Bristol Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Kate Player for reproductive services, particularly for breeders who value a thoughtful, evidence-informed, and collaborative approach.
I came to Dr. Player with a high-stakes breeding that had several factors working against a successful conception. From the beginning, she and her team treated the situation with the level of seriousness, precision, and individualized planning it deserved. They reviewed the available breeding options, discussed the advantages and limitations of each, and developed a structured plan designed to give my dog the best possible chance of success while keeping her health and comfort at the center of every decision.
What impressed me most was the depth of knowledge and critical thinking Dr. Player brought to the process. My questions were answered thoroughly and thoughtfully, with explanations that reflected both practical reproductive experience and an understanding of current research and best practices. I never felt that we were simply following a standard formula. Instead, Dr. Player was willing to evaluate the specifics of the case, consider less conventional options when appropriate, and make recommendations based on the individual dog and circumstances in front of her.
The entire process felt like a true partnership between breeder and veterinary team. Dr. Player and the staff were accessible, invested, and generous with their time, including outside of regular business hours when timing was critical. I also appreciated being allowed to observe the procedures performed on my dog, which gave me additional confidence in both their skill and their care.
For serious breeders looking for reproductive services, Bristol Veterinary Clinic is exactly the kind of veterinary team you hope to find. Dr. Kate Player combines knowledge, preparation, communication, and genuine investment in the outcome in a way that is not easy to come by. This was the kind of experience that builds real trust, and I would absolutely recommend Dr. Player and Bristol Veterinary Clinic to other breeders looking for knowledgeable, committed reproductive care.
Referred to Bristol Vet clinic for an ear crop of our American Staffordshire pup, made the consultation appointment and met with Dr.Player we were very impressed by her knowledge and time spent explaining things to us. We live in Indiana so its close to: 1 1/2 hr hr drive to her clinic but we had her crop our pups ears and are so happy with the results and care he was given. We decided to go go back for stich removal and vaccines, weve been back again today for vaccines and rabies shot and already have our next appointment booked for next month. It may be a drive but well worth it, all of the office staff is amazing and Dr. Player is the best vet we've ever come across. Her knowledge and time she spends to explain things to you in detail is top notch! Highly recommend!
